Hi,
Very well organised run.
Might be a good idea on the results page to mention the club that the runners belong to.
Cheers,

It was really good and thank you to all.
Only reservations were was very glad it was dry as the course in the wet would not be funny. The ground was very rough/uneven at the start which could lead to twisted ankles etc but overall a very challenging course and more steep than expected.
Very well organised and having Liz Baker (who never seems to get any older) strategically situated on the course to give me that snog/boost was a very thoughtful touch by Richard. It was just what I needed to renew my vigour and will to live, finish the course ,even!
Thanks once again

I thought the Hursley 10k was very well organised - it was nice to have such a local event with such a scenic route that you wouldn't normally be able to run.
My only comments would be that to fun run could have been started sooner after the 10k than it was - it meant quite a bit if hanging about, which having done the 10k and for the little ones doing the fun run, who'd already waited whilst 10k was on, was a bit long. This was partly due to to number of spot prizes, which, especially as a winner of one, was nice, but i felt it did go on a bit. Half that number would have been sufficient, and may have meant the fun run could have got underway sooner.
Apart from that though, i only have positive feedback. Good to results online soon after race and nice to have the photos too.
Look foward to next year!

It was great! I prefer cross country to road racing and really loved the route especially the last bit through the trees. can we have more like this please, with some obstacles....and less roads, even dirt ones - I know someone will always complain that its to rutted etc but then they can stick to the road racing. Uneven terrain is what X-country is all about!. Well done. The childrens race was a great addition and the bouncy castle was such a good idea to keep little ones occupied and happy while mums & dads did their race. Can we have a veterans section next time - I might stand a chance then!

I thought the race was excellent, couldn’t fault it in any way. It was really good to race off road for a change, it’s slower but much better on the joints.

Fantastic day, my first 10k, has given me the bug, really looking forward to next year. I run 3 times per week in Ampfield woods, so I was ready for the hills but the ruts at the start were rather tough. Well done to the organisers!

Overall a very well run event. I particularly liked the KM markers prominently displayed around the route. The route was challenging enough !
Registration was very easy and there was plenty of room to move around. Water stations were well located.
Make sure the route arrows are fixed and the marshalls know the course.
I'm looking forward to next year, already

Have done a few 10K s but this was the first 'cross country' one. I am so glad it wasn't just me that thought the hills (although not massive) were killers!!!
Great to have a web site dedicated to the run and will definatley be back next year. If it wouldn't be too difficult can the results be split into male and female next year. Only ask as like to see how many females entered and how I've done (don't compare to the men....they are just far too fast and good for me!)
Thank you for a great run

My first 10k experience, very enjoyable, well organised but tough course in lovely surroundings. Appreciated the encouragement from the marshalls, especially in last km. Well done to all involved in the organisation, great job!! See you next year

Really good event bringing lots of people together from the village & outside. My boys loved the fun run. Are there any pictures from the start line? Well done for organizing it all Gary, Judy & Liz

What a great event for all those involved. Many many thanks to the organisers- it was all very impressive. The children loved the fun run and what a fantastic opportunity for them to raise money for the school.

I personally thought the course was spot on. It is cross country after all. Good mixture, ruts! gravel, hills, woodland and grass. Couldn't ask for more - well done to all involved.

I work at IBM and often run parts of this course at lunch. On a 4k run I hardly notice the gradient but after 7k every climb felt like a big hill. Agree with the comment about the first 500m - this was very rough terrain and was hard on the ankles. Otherwise a well organized event - cannot wait till next year.

good run, well organised and a great day; although id like to echo the previous comment re the safety aspect...only serious concentration prevented injuries. The majority of the course was well managed on gravel tracks, but the first 1.5k & the last 500m were on rutted farmland and at possibly the most crucial part of the run - dont get me wrong i loved it, but i can see how it could have gone wrong!
thanks for a good race! Tram

A thoroughly well organised and enjoyable run, despite a headlong crash into the turf just after the 9k mark in the woods, fortunately a relatively soft landing there so no damage done ! I am an off-road novice, but this did raise the question in my mind, could the route be changed to make the course safer ? it was very rutted in places when off the gravel tracks.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to the organisers for a friendly, enjoyable, but tough 10k. I knew that hill near the end would hurt!
See you again next year.

Very well organised event and a nice course too.
Shame about going the wrong way between 5 and 7 km. Looking at the course map I see we should have turned right then left after the long grassy trail, however we turned left and had to compensate by going up and round the marshall at the top of the hill. This bit of the course was roughly a rectangle and we should have done 2 long sides and 1 short side. As it was we did 3 short sides which ended up making the run a fraction over distance (I think it was 10.28km on my GPS). That is an easy thing to correct for next year.
I agree with the other little points about having some sort of results printout being done as people finish so that you can see right away how you have done (and how little time it took the winners). Also more bins needed around the start area. Took me a while to find somewhere to put my empty bottle.
Well done to all the marshalls and other event organisers and helpers.

Running from the back of the field, I have to say this was one of the nicest runs I have ever done. Great atmosphere and lovely people supporting you as you went round. Course was a bit tough but very interesting and if you run it again I would highly recommend it.
Thanks to all the organisers - it was fab!

A great day and well organised race, enjoyed the course.
One plea, could you use the waxed cardboard cups at the drinks stations. They can be squeezed to make a 'funnel' which is easier to drink from on the move & break down quicker in a land fill.

A big thank you to the race committee for a superbly organised event today.
This was my first race since school days (1985!) so I will always remember it. The drinks stations and marshals (especially the ones in the darker parts of the woods) made a big difference with their help and encouragement.
I will certainly be up for another go next year if you run the event again!

What a fantastic event. I loved the course, tho' it was a bit tough in places! Your website was really informative, user friendly and inviting. I thought the video of the course was a great idea.
Well done to all of you, hope you will run it again next year.

A really excellent event; organization was spot-on, course was interesting with killer hills in the second half. Please run it again!
Two minor points - lots more bins were needed with bottles and cups being thrown away and my supporters all were dying for a cup of tea or coffee!
However a really big thank you to the organizers!

I ran the course, well the publicly accessible part, on Tuesday 24/7/07 and It's going to be a fun cross country with some nice inclines and some great mud. Advice is trail shoes unless you like skating.
Will update more over the coming weeks if it dries out.
