Hursley 10k 2007 Post Race Report.

Monday 1st October 2007

Hi,

Firstly we hope you all had a very enjoyable day and run at this year’s Hursley 10k Cross Country Run.

As many of you will know this was the first year the event has been run, and the first time many of the organisers and helpers have been
involved in running such an event. Given the feedback to date we are super excited about the future, as we believe the event has got a lot
of potential beyond what you've already seen. However we could do with a little direction, and that's where all runners, helpers, family and
friends come in.

That's right...we need your help to make the event even better.

We hope that your feedback will help shape the future of the Hursley 10k event. Informal stuff like "I didn't like..." or "I wish the organisers
would..." or "This wasn't what I expected." Don't worry, we are not easily offended.

Feedback is vital can we count on you? There are a number of ways to submit your feedback, either via "the wall" on the website or just reply
to this email.

Ok that’s the request for help over now onto the stats:

We had 308 runners pre enter
We had 92 runners enter on the day
We had 356 starters and 356 finishers on the 10k course
We had 128 runners enter the fun run

The winning male time was 36:47:00 by Julian Mann
The winning female was Janet Littlewood in a time of 44:53:00 (35th position)

The amount raised for John Keble primary school was over £4,000.00.

So to close this year’s event we would like to thank Geoff and Fiona Squire for access to the private areas of their estate.

Please note that now the event is over all runners are asked not to enter the private areas of Hursley Estate and Ampfield Woods. The Estate is private property, access was only permitted to runners running in the race on the 23rd of September. This is not only down to an issue of access but also health and safety due to agricultural machinery working and also the possibility of shooting in the area. Failure to respect this notice might have an effect on gaining permission to run the event over the priviate land in the future. Thank you for your cooperation.

We would also like to say a big thank you to all our sponsors and helpers for the support and help in making the event and day a great success.

We look forward to your feedback and hope to be planning for next year soon, we will keep you posted.

Kind regards
