Listen to an audio interview with Patrick Westropp recorded on 26th May regarding Full on Sport and chip timing. Listen
You will be asked to attach the chip to your shoelaces using the plastic ties provided. The chip will be collected from you at the end of the run. The chip will ensure an accurate time is provided for all runners.
We think it is important for the competitors to realise that the race is operating on a 'gun start', in accordance with the EA regs, so the faster runners should position themselves nearer the front of the start. The benefit to the competitors of chip timing is the speed of the time being posted online and the accuracy of the time. You should also realise the benefits to the organiser in not having to record and process the times manually and in being able to hold the prize giving without too much of a delay. Finally you need to understand that chip timing is not without its problems, but that it should enhance the racing experience for everyone.
The Chip timing for this year’s event is being provided by Full On Sport. We are very much looking forward to working with Patrick and his team on this event.
